On 31 August, Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart and the Klett Group invited music lovers to the Johanniskirche on Stuttgart’s Feuersee for a concert by the top British choir Tenebrae. The event was held as part of Musikfest Stuttgart's “Unternehmen Musik” series. Already a long-standing partner of Internationale Bachakademie, the Klett Group is supporting the “Unternehmen Musik” series for the third year in a row.

At this year’s Musikfest, the Klett Group joined Internationale Bachakademie in presenting the renowned Tenebrae choir, which treated their audience to a programme entitled “Remembrance: 100 Years After the End of the First World War” under the direction of Nigel Short. To commemorate this 100-year anniversary, the choir has embarked on a “Remembrance” tour with contemporary a cappella works by British composers such as Edward Elgar, John Tavener, and Herbert Howells, as well as a newly commissioned piece by Judith Bingham. Its 19 members presented a British-German programme dedicated to the fallen, the conflict itself, and the notion of saying goodbye to loved ones to a rapt audience. The concert culminated in a ringing message of peace with Arnold Schönberg's Friede auf Erden.
“The ‘Unternehmen Musik’ concert series offers unique experiences not only to our guests, but to our employees in Stuttgart, as well. The international character of the Tenebrae choir and the social responsibilities highlighted by this year's programme are things that truly reflect the Klett Group's identity,” stated Philipp Haußmann, spokesperson of the Management Board of Ernst Klett AG.
This year’s joint concert event was held at the Johanneskirche on Stuttgart's Feuersee, which is located directly across from Klett's headquarters. Klett thus has a special connection to this church, which for over 10 years has been the place where Internationale Bachakademie and its ensembles present the company's annual Christmas concert to its employees.
